Walraven BIS UltraProtect® 1000 (or BUP 1000) is our unique surface treatment which provides a higher corrosion resistance than Hot Dip Galvanisation.
This special surface treatment is available on a number of our key product ranges including the Walraven RapidStrut System, pipe clamps including Bifix G2 and HD clamps, and ancilliary items like stud, bolts and washers. The perfect solution for outdoor use where corrosion resistance is required.

How does it compare to HDG?
The products using a Walraven BIS UltraProtect® 1000 (BUP 1000) coating offer higher corrosion resistance than HDG. They can effortlessly withstand a salt spray test of at least 1000 hours (according to ISO 9227), whereas hot dip galvanized products withstand only up to 300-600 hours.
Despite a relatively thin protective layer, the corrosion resistance is high. The products from the Walraven BIS UltraProtect® 1000 system have a smooth finish and products with threaded holes or rod are also well protected against corrosion.
